Hoitajakin kysyi minulta sattuuko. Vastasin ei, ei oikeastaan.
Hammaslääkäri kysyi vielä uudestaan, eikö varmasti koske?
Mikähän tässä nyt on oikea vastaus?
No okei, ehkä ihan vähän. Mutta ei oikeastaan.
Hammaslääkäri ryntäsi ulos huoneesta ja näytti vähän oudolta..
"Mitä hittoa tää nyt on..", ajattelin ja aloin selittää toiselle hoitsulle uudelleen, että hampaasta irtosi tänään pala. TÄNÄÄN?, hän sanoi ja juoksi hammaslääkärin perään. Hammaslääkäri tuli hymyillen takaisin ja sanoi:
Ok, meidän täytyy sitten paikata se.
Sitten ne paikkasi sitä jotain10 minuttia ja kaikki oli valmista.
Kielimuuri vai kommunikaation puute henkilökunnan kesken?
Se jäi mysteeriksi, mutta hammas on ainakin taas kunnossa :)
Ainakin tämän käynnin perusteella sosiaalipalvelut toimii täällä paremmin kuin Suomessa. Koko hommaan meni yhteensä odotuksineen 45 minuuttia ja kaikki hoitui e-cardia (paikallista kela-korttia) vilauttamalla. Suomessa päivystykseen mennessä täytyy aina varautua odottamaan tuntikausia.
Itävalta veti siis tässä asiassa pisteet kotiin.

A huge piece of tooth fell off from my back tooth that has been root canal treated and patched many times. I went to a dentist on-call to show it, even though it didn´t really hurt so much. Assistant took an x-ray and I explained to her what had happened. Then I got to see the dentist.
He looked at my mouth and asked if I have pain. I said not really.
The assistant asked me also if I have pain. I said no, not really.
The dentist asked me again are you sure you don´t have any pain.
I wondered, what is the right answer here..?
Well, okay maybe just a little, I said. But not really.
The dentist ran out of the room and looked somehow weird..
"What the hell is going on", I thought by myself and started to explain to the other assistant again, that a piece of tooth fell off today. TODAY? She said and ran after the dentist. He came back with a smile on his face and said:
Ok, we need to fill out the tooth then.
Then they worked like maybe 10 minutes and it was ready.
Language barrier or lack of communication between the staff?
That remains a mystery, but now my tooth is okay again :)
At least based on this experience, the social services function better in here than in Finland. The whole thing took about 45 minutes, including the waiting time and just by showing the e-card. In Finland you always have to be prepared to wait hours when you go to a doctor on-call.
So Austria got my points for this one.
