SCHLOSSBERG

KAUPUNGIN PUISTO --- STADTPARK --- CITY PARK

Tämä  iso puisto sijaitsee lähellä keskustaa ja on kävelymatkan varrella kotoamme keskustaan ja on todella kaunis näin kesäaikaan.

This big park is close to the city  and on our way to the city center when we walk there and it is really beautiful in summertime.

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER MUSEUM

Arnold Schwarzenegger syntyi ja vietti nuoruutensa Thalin kylässä joka sijaitsee 20 minuutin ajomatkan päässä meiltä kotoa. Arnoldin kotitalossa on nykyään Arnie´s life museo, joka kertoo hänen elämästään. Oltiin Jounin kanssa jo mietitty aikaisemmin että käydään siellä joskus ja nyt olikin hyvä tilaisuus mennä, kun arvelin että veljeänikin voisi moinen kiinnostaa. Terminaattori leffat oli teinivuosina kova juttu. Museo oli aika pieni ja kompakti ja oli ihan kiva käydä siellä.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was born and spend his childhood and youth in a village called Thal that´s about 20 minutes drive from our home. In his former home there´s  a museum called Arnie´s life, telling his story. We had thought about going there with Jouni, but now was a great chance to go there because I figured my brother could also be interested to see it. Terminator movies were awesome in my teenage years. The museum was quite small and compact and it was nice to visit there.

Erityisesti museosta jäi mieleen lipunmyyjänainen, joka erittäin pirteällä ja eloisalla olemuksellaan sai hyvän mielen ja hymyn huulille jo ennen varsinaista museovierailua.

What especially stayed on my mind from the museum, was the very cheerful and lively lady selling the tickets. She made us smile and into a good mood even before going to an actual museum.

MUITA AKTIVITEETTEJA --- OTHER ACTIVITIES

Ihasteltiin Grazia ylhäältäpäin Fürstenstandin kukkulalta

We went to see Graz from the hill called Fürstenstand

Käytiin syömässä tapaksia parin korttelin päässä kotoamme sijaitsevassa kivassa pikkuravintolassa

We ate tapas in a nice small restaurant few blocks away from our house

Käytiin uimassa Schwarzlseella --- Went swimming to Schwarzlsee

Isä löysi hienon tuliaisen itselleen --- My father found a nice souvenir for himself

Pienet nokoset ennen kotimatkaa...no, Tikru kyllä jää vielä tänne..

MY FAMILY IN GRAZ – PART 1

Olemme odottaneet kauan että mun vanhemmat ja veli tulisivat käymään luonamme Grazissa. Nyt kun veljelläni oli kesäloma niin he vihdoin saapuivat elokuun alussa. Oli tosi kivaa päästä näyttämään heille uutta kotikaupunkiamme!!

We have been waiting for a long time to get my parents and my brother to visit us in Graz. Now that my brother had his summer vacation they finally arrived in the beginning of August. It was so nice to show them our new hometown!

He lensivät Helsingistä Frankfurtin kautta Graziin ja menimme hakemaan heitä lentokentältä.

They flew from Helsinki via Frankfurt to Graz and we picked them up from the airport.

Siellä ne nyt on! --- There they are!

Jouni sanoi että kai sinä meinaat olla niitä vastassa nimikyltin kanssa? Se taisi kyllä vaan vitsailla mutta raapustin kyltin kuitenkin. Autenttista tunnelmaa luomaan kirjoitin nimen vähän sinnepäin kun ne kuulemma harvemmin on ihan oikein kirjoitettu

Jouni said that of course you´re going to pick them up with a sign, right? I think he was just joking but I did it anyway. To make it more authentic, I wrote the name a bit wrong, cause I heard the names in those are rarely spelled correctly

Veimme heidät hotellilleen joka sijaitsi vajaan 10 minuutin kävelymatkan päässä meidän kotoa.

We took them to their hotel that was less than 10 minutes walk from our home.

SCHLOSS EGGENBERG

Lähdimme ensimmäisenä päivänä käymään Schloss Eggenbergillä, joka sijaitsee lähellä Grazin keskustaa. Täältä paikasta on blogissani kuvia jo aikasemmin TÄÄLLÄ ja TÄÄLLÄ, joten en kovin montaa kuvaa tähän tällä kertaa laita

On the first day we went to visit Schloss Eggenberg, which is located quite near to the centre of Graz. I have pictures of this place already in my blog in HERE and HERE, so I will not put so much photos about the place this time.

Ilma oli todella lämmin ja puisto yhtä kaunis kuin aina

The weather was really warm and the park as beautiful as always

Siinäpä on ollut iso puu --- Wow, that was a big tree

Aina yhtä leikkisä isäni --- My father, always so playful

Näimme ikkunoista vilauksen miltä huoneet näyttävät sisältä

BUSCHENSCHANK SCHAUER

Ajoimme lähellä Slovenian rajaa sijaitsevalle viinitielle, jossa sijaitsee runsaasti viinitiloja ja monella niistä on oma ravintolansa “Buschenschank”, jossa tarjoillaan heidän omien viinien lisäksi myös kylmiä ruokia.

We drove to a South Styrian wine road near the Slovenian border. There are several wineries and many of them have their own restaurants called “Buschenschank”, where they serve of course their own wines but also cold food like cheese and cold cuts.

Oli kyllä todella kiva terassi ja maisemat

There was a  really nice terrace with a great view

Aurinkokin paistoi lähes koko ajan lähestyvistä ukkospilvistä huolimatta

The sun was shining the whole time despite the fact, that the thunder clouds were getting closer all the time

Paras tapa Buschenschankissa on ottaa useampi erilainen leikkele- tai juustolautanen ja jakaa ruoat kaikkien kesken niin saa maistella paljon erilaisia ruokia. Kyllähän nuo kaikille maistui, todella maukkaita!

The best way is to order many different dishes of meat or cheese and share them. That way you can taste many different kind of food. We all really enjoyed these, they were soooo tasty!

Ja sama juttu tehtiin jälkkäreiden kanssa. Mielettömän hyviä kaikki!

And the same thing with desserts. So delicious!

Isälläni oli syntymäpäivät hiljattain ja tämä päivällinen oli vähän niinkuin synttärilahja hänelle

My father had his birthday recently, so this dinner was sort of a birthday present to him
